simple, Quick and efficient installations

Our LED lighting system process is comprised of the following 10 steps.

Step 1:
Connect

Our first priority is making sure we clearly understand your lighting goals and your facilities. For instance, are cost savings your main driver? What about reduced maintenance costs? Interested in helping your employees increase their productivity? Maybe your looking for more security? Integration with your material handling flow? Do you want to pay for the system or would you like an immediate savings solution? Whatever your motivations, understanding them will inform our proposed LED lighting solution.

step 2:
Utility Bill Analysis

We will review your utility bills from the last 12 months to establish your baseline usage (kWh & kW), along with your energy ($/kWh) and power ($/kW) costs. Your utility bills help establish how much money we can start saving you once your new LED lighting is installed. We'll need you to email or mail us your utility bills to get started.

step 3:
Onsite audit

During an onsite audit we will put eyes on every lighting fixture that provides light for your operation. We'll be noting each fixture's type, quantity, lumen output, color characteristics and condition, as well as the fixture's function (ex: task vs overhead, indoor vs outdoor), proximity to daylight sources, sensor requirements (ex: integrated occupancy, daylight and/or material movement sensors) and lighting control system (ex: dimming, automatic, switched). Each facility is different, and we'll be seeking to understand how your facility's lighting needs will drive our proposed LED lighting solution.

step 4:
design

Using your in-depth audit information, we'll head back to the office and determine the equipment designs and specifications that will be required to meet your specific lighting needs. We design to meet or exceed lighting industry recommendations and local energy codes.

Step 5: Proposal

We will present you with a detailed proposal that outlines the proposed LED lighting system's scope of supply, installation schedule and cost. We'll also show you your energy and maintenance savings, the amount of avoided air pollution and other key metrics.

step 6:
fine print

We'll execute a project specific Lighting Services Agreement outlining the scope, schedule and budget of your lighting retrofit, as well as the specific equipment warranty, Energy Savings Guarantee and other provisions required to complete the installation of your new LED lighting system.

Step 7:
Utility Incentive Approvals

Each utility's LED lighting rebates are different, however utility rebates typically cover between 10% and 70% of the cost of your new LED lighting system. Prior to ordering equipment and having labor crews mobilize to the site, LightEdison will work with your electrical utility's lighting rebate program to secure the appropriate approvals for your new LED lighting system.

STEP 8:
FUNDING

LightEdison's Services Agreement uses a reduction of your utility and maintenance costs as funding for your energy system. With our Services Agreement you can begin receiving the operational benefits of a high-performance energy upgrades today with no money due upfront.

step 9:
Install

We take full responsibility for insuring that your new LED lighting system will be installed according to all applicable energy use codes, and that the installation does not impact your operations, including scheduling the installation only during the night shift if we determine that the least operational impacts can be achieved via "third shift" schedules. Typical install times are a couple of days for a gas station or parking lot and about a week for a school, grocery store, warehouse or office building (hint: schedule is driven entirely on the scope of install and the size of your facility).
